Lifenet Health Readigraft® Blx Dbm Putty versus Autograft in a Critical Sized Calvarial Defect Study
نویسنده
چکیده
Materials and Methods: An 8 mm calvarial defect was created in the athymic rat and filled with either the test article (BLX Putty) or autograft. This model is a well-established and validated model for testing the osteoregenerative capacity of bone substitutes wherein an 8 mm defect in the rat calvaria will not spontaneously heal without treatment. The test article was provided in ready-touse aliquots, while the autograft control consisted of bone harvested from the calvarial defect, which was finely morselized and implanted back into the defect of origin.

Lifenet Health Readigraft® Blx Dbm Putty versus Autograft in a Posterolateral Fusion Study
Materials and Methods: The graft materials were assessed for bone healing efficacy in the athymic rat posterolateral fusion (PLF) model. This model has been extensively characterized to ensure that there are not instances of spontaneous fusion, and instead that the fusion results from the osteogenic, osteoconductive and/or osteoinductive nature of the graft materials. The transverse processes o...
متن کاملComparison of the Osteogenic Potential of OsteoSelect Demineralized Bone Matrix Putty to NovaBone Calcium-Phosphosilicate Synthetic Putty in a Cranial Defect Model
The purpose of this study was to compare the osteogenic potential of a synthetic and a demineralized bone matrix (DBM) putty using a cranial defect model in New Zealand white rabbits. Paired, bilateral critical-size defects (10 mm) were prepared in the frontal bones of 12 rabbits and filled with either OsteoSelect DBM Putty or NovaBone calcium-phosphosilicate putty. At days 43 and 91, 6 rabbits...
متن کامل• The Performance of a Sterile Demineralized Bone Matrix Putty in a Rabbit Posterolateral Fusion Model
INTRODUCTION: Bone fusion, such as in spinal surgeries, may be accelerated through the use of a bone graft substitute (BGS). While autograft was considered the gold standard of treatment, it can be undesirable for use by surgeons due to donor site morbidity and limited availability. As an alternate method of treatment, human allograft Demineralized Bone Matrix (DBM) can be used by surgeons eith...
متن کاملBone grafts prepared with selective cell retention technology heal canine segmental defects as effectively as autograft.
Using a canine critical-size segmental defect model, a two-phased study was undertaken to evaluate the healing efficacy of demineralized bone and cancellous chips (DBM-CC) enriched with osteoprogenitor cells using a Selective Cell Retention (SCR) technology. The goals of this study were: 1) to determine the bone-healing efficacy of SCR-enriched grafts versus autograft, and 2) to assess the valu...
متن کاملBone generation in the reconstruction of a critical size calvarial defect in an experimental model.
This study was designed to investigate the optimal combination of known osteogenic biomaterials with shape conforming struts to achieve calvarial vault reconstruction, using a canine model. Eighteen adolescent beagles were divided equally into 6 groups. A critical-size defect of 6 x 2 cm traversed the sagittal suture. The biomaterials used for calvarial reconstruction were demineralized perfora...
